At Sherwood Dental Care, Nottingham, we use the Invisalign system to straighten teeth. This revolutionary treatment uses a series of clear, custom-fit mouth trays, or aligners, to straighten without the need for metal wires or brackets.

Invisalign aligners are made using state-of-the art 3D computer imaging technology, which is the first of its kind in the world. Comfortable and removable, patients can eat and drink as normal during the treatment process and can keep their mouth perfectly clean and fresh.  As Invisalign doesn’t use metal or wires, there is less chance of gum disease, abrasions, or damage being caused to teeth.

How does it work?

Invisalign treatment uses 3D imaging to create a rendering of how your teeth look now and how they’ll look at each stage of your treatment, including your finished smile. You’ll then be given a series of clear aligners every few weeks, which gently move your teeth to the required position over time. Not only does this make your treatment more comfortable, but you may also see these subtle changes as they happen.

    • Prices vary, depending on how long you’ll need treatment for – we’ll go over this in greater detail during your consultation with us here at our Nottingham dental practice. We do offer 0% finance to our patients to spread the cost over a series of months, rather than paying all in one go, which can help to budget for the treatment.

    • The aligners clip onto your teeth to stay in place, and each new set will create a slight feeling of pressure at the beginning. This is normal, as it simply means they’re doing their work. Our patients find Invisalign a much more comfortable alternative to traditional wire and bracket braces.

    • Again, this depends on the individual and we can advise more on this during the consultation stage. For some, treatment takes a matter of months, while others may need treatment for longer.
